Hamilton County Community Foundation board of directors has approved grants for Hamilton County not-for-profits totaling $172,500. The grants provide unrestricted operating support to organizations aligned with the Foundation’s three community leadership pillars—behavioral health, family and youth empowerment, and inclusive economic growth. These pillars support the mission of the Foundation — to mobilize people, ideas and investment to make Hamilton County a community where every individual has an equitable opportunity to reach their full potential—no matter their place, race or identity.

The Indiana Center for Prevention of Youth Abuse and Suicide (ICPYAS) works passionately to empower the community to end youth abuse and suicide by offering evidence-based and evidence-informed, high-quality prevention programs so all children can live free from harm and to their highest potential. By giving youth, their families, and those who work directly with youth the tools they need to prevent child sexual abuse and suicide, they create circles of safety around every child and build healthier, more resilient communities.
Sheridan Community Schools (SCS) is a K-12 public school corporation that creates high leverage, high impact learning opportunities for all students. This grant will support SCS’s initiative to address the limited access to quality childcare for the Sheridan community. Currently, no licensed childcare facilities operate in Sheridan. In order to address this need, Sheridan Community Schools will expand their childcare center and develop partnerships to provide childcare for area employers.
Student Impact of Westfield helps Westfield youth develop friendships, connect with mentors, and learn skills that will inspire them in their next season of life. They do this through a number of programs including: their signature after school program, their basketball league; and 9 other programs that occur weekly, monthly and quarterly. Each program is intentionally designed and facilitated to empower Westfield youth individually, peer to peer, and with mentors.

Funding for this grant round was provided by the Hamilton County Community Foundation Endowment Fund as well as the City of Noblesville Fund, Dale Snelling Blue Ribbon Foundation, Jack Arnold Russell Charitable Fund, Northern Hamilton County Fund, Carmel Endowment Fund and Westfield Endowment Fund.
