Jennifer Bartenbach

CEO

Jennifer Bartenbach is the CEO of Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF). CICF and The Indianapolis Foundation, along with Hamilton County Community Foundation, IMPACT Central Indiana and Women’s Fund of Central Indiana, are part of a $1 billion philanthropic collaborative committed to mobilizing people, ideas and investments to make Central Indiana a community where all individuals have equitable opportunity to reach their full potential—no matter place, race or identity. Each organization also has its own unique strategic plan to advance this goal within the communities it serves.

Prior to her role as CEO, Jennifer served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer for CICF for the last 10 years. She has effectively led the recent restructuring and establishment of the philanthropic collaborative. During her time as CFO and COO of CICF, she had direct responsibility over all operations of CICF and 10 consolidating supporting entities. She also co-founded and co-leads IMPACT Central Indiana, a multi-member limited-liability company created to facilitate social-impact investments in the community.

Prior to CICF, Jennifer started her career doing a three-semester co-op at Toyota Motor Manufacturing while finishing her degree at the University of Evansville. She moved to Indianapolis in 2001 to pursue a career in public accounting at BKD, LLP (now Forvis) where she joined the not-for-profit/governmental team. After a quick stop at Sigma Micro, she returned to the philanthropic sector, spending eight years at the Indianapolis Museum of Art (Newfields) – four as CFO and one as the internal interim CEO before joining CICF.

Jennifer earned a B.S in accounting from the University of Evansville and an MBA from Ball State University. Jennifer volunteers at Saint Matthew School where her three daughters are students. She served as a coordinator and fundraiser at two IPS schools for their Blessings in a Backpack program. She was a founding board member and then board chair of Circle City Prep charter school. She has served on the board of Project Home Indy, the finance committee for the Indiana Sports Corp, Leadership Indianapolis and was a member of the Stanley K. Lacy Executive Leadership Class 42.

Mike Simmons

Chair - Jupiter Peak LLC

Mike co-founded T2 Systems in 1994 and served as CEO until 2013 when he moved into the role of Chairman. He also serves as Managing Director of Jupiter Peak, LLC, which is focused on investment in the local technology community.

Mike serves on the board of directors of the Indiana Repertory Theater and T2 Systems, and has served on a number of other local not-for-profit boards, including as the chairman of the TechPoint Foundation for Youth. He and his wife Liz founded the Simmons Family Foundation with CICF in 2011 to fulfill their philanthropic goals and engage their children in the spirit of giving. They have three children and live in Zionsville.

Kathy Davis

Kathy Davis is the owner and founder of Davis Design Group, providing analysis and information systems for leaders of systems that serve people. The Simulated Education Experience is a virtual world of Indiana students built around the goal of completing higher education.

Kathy is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard Business School. She was the first woman to serve as Indiana’s Lieutenant Governor. Kathy also served as Controller for the City of Indianapolis, Secretary of the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, and State Budget Director.

Kathy serves on the boards of the Indianapolis Foundation, Lumina Foundation for Education, Noble of Indiana, IU SPEA, IU Public Policy Institute, WGU Indiana, Shepherd Tech Arts Resource Team, and Chembio Diagnostics Inc.

Andrea Fonseca

Andrea Fonseca is a vice president at J.P. Morgan Private Bank. She has over 15 years of experience in the banking industry. Andrea provides integrated wealth strategies and forward-thinking, objective advice to her clients, which include individuals and families, professionals, business owners, executives and other high-net-worth clients.

Andrea earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida, MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University.  She currently lives in Zionsville with her husband and 3 children. In addition to serving on the CICF Board, Andrea is involved in a number of organizations including the Women’s Fund Sage Society, Impact 100, and is part of the inaugural class of the Indiana Latino Institute’s Leadership Circle.

John is also active in not-for-profit activities, having served as board chair for several organizations, including the Indianapolis Art Center, the Dean’s Advisory Committee of the Herron School of Art, the Park Tudor Board of Directors, Happy Hollow Children’s Camp, and the Patachou Foundation, among others.

There’s no stopping Seth Morales as he blazes the trail to grow a business built on listening and solving the critical issues of business leaders. As the President and CEO, he sees Morales Group as an incubator for talent. This people-driven all star continues standing up for the less fortunate in helping build homes for those in need via the Home of Hope program in Mexico and sits on St. Vincent’s Health System Board of Directors. When he’s not reliving his game-winning touchdown catch from Drew Brees to beat Ohio State, Seth can be found hiking, playing a game of football with his kids, or hanging out by the fire pit in the back yard.

Una O. Osili is the associate dean for research and international programs at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. She is also an economist with expertise in economic development and financial markets. She has served as a volunteer and board member with several local and national organizations.

Una, and her husband Vop live in downtown Indianapolis with their two children.  She received her Ph. D. in economics at Northwestern University and earned a bachelor of arts in economics at Harvard University.

Marya Rose

Retired Chief Administrative Officer - Cummins

Marya is the retired Chief Administrative Officer from Cummins. She joined Cummins in 1997 and quickly made her mark. In 2001, she was named General Counsel. In this role, Rose transformed the legal function from a group focused primarily on North America to a true global team and strategic partner to the business. Marya was named CAO in 2011and immediately began to drive effectiveness and efficiencies across several disparate company functions to better support and partner with the business segments.

During her tenure, Marya vastly improved the company’s communications platforms and capabilities, transformed Cummins’ physical environment, and introduced new ways of working. She also helped make Cummins’ Corporate Responsibility work more impactful, and she streamlined many corporate business processes. Additionally, Marya often served as the public voice for the company on critical issues and was responsible for Cummins’ response to immigration reform and marriage equality. She retired in 2020.

Prior to joining Cummins, Marya served two Indiana Governors and practiced law in Indianapolis. She earned a bachelor’s degree in political economy from Williams College and a law degree from Indiana University – Indianapolis (now the McKinney School of Law). Marya has served in leadership positions on several public company and not-for-profit boards, including Duke Energy, Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky, Newfields, Hoosier Women Forward, and 16 Tech.

Marya and her husband Tony have had a donor-advised fund with The Indianapolis Foundation since 2013 and were Equity Partners in 2021 and 2022.

Cindy Simon Skjodt

Cindy was appointed to The Indianapolis Foundation Board of Trustees in 2004 by Mayor Bart Peterson and was re-appointed to another six year term in 2009 by Mayor Greg Ballard. Cindy is passionate about helping children and is personally involved with the Simon Youth Foundation and the Pacers Foundation. Cindy serves on several boards including Indiana University Foundation, Methodist Health Foundation, Park Tudor School, Butler University, and many more. She is also a recipient of the prestigious Sagamore of the Wabash award. Cindy is married to Indiana Ice owner Paul Skjodt and they have three children.

Charles P. Sutphin

Mr. Sutphin joined the CICF board in 2007 and was chairman from 2014-2015. He has participated in the governance of numerous not-for-profits. Manager of Netherleigh Enterprises, LLC, Mr. Sutphin sits on several investment committees and dispenses a modicum of humor, good will and timely advice. Married, he is blessed with two children and a dog. He’s been known to travel — as well as to sit and read (often in that order).

President

Lorenzo Lamar Esters is president of The Indianapolis Foundation, one of the oldest community foundations in the nation. He previously served as Chancellor for the Ivy Tech Community College Indianapolis service area. Prior to joining Ivy Tech, he served as Vice President for Advancement and Member Engagement with the Association of American Colleges and Universities, a higher education association representing more than 1,200 two- and four-year institutions located in 50 states, the District of Columbia, three U.S. Territories and 25 countries.

He previously served as Executive Director for Higher Education Partnerships within the Global Education Division of Educational Testing Service, where he led the “Skills for a New Economy Initiative”, an effort focused on creating new solutions for workplace success by visualizing the skills, capabilities and knowledge needed to thrive in a changing economy.

Dr. Esters’ professional experiences have been uniquely centered on generating philanthropic and institutional capacity to support student access, completion, and career readiness efforts, particularly for those from marginalized backgrounds. He previously served as Vice President for Philanthropy at Strada Education Network, a not-for-profit corporation located in Indianapolis, IN. He was the inaugural Vice President for Student Success and Enrollment Management at Kentucky State University, where he managed a budget of $12 million and a total of 85 employees responsible for supporting the co-curricular and holistic development of students. There, he led efforts that resulted in increased student enrollment and retention and built partnerships with businesses such as Toyota Corporation that provided paid internship, mentorship, and job opportunities for students.

Dr. Esters previously served as Vice President for the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities’ (APLU) Office for Access. Demonstrative of his entrepreneurial leadership skills, he has developed partnerships between higher education institutions and private and federal agencies, and with institutions internationally in an effort to build student recruitment, study abroad, and research capacity.

He has managed a portfolio of over $17 million in grants to higher education institutions nationally and has secured over $10 million in funding, including to support the development of the APLU Minority Male Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Initiative, an effort designed to incentivize partnerships between two- and four-year institutions toward increasing the numbers of minority males who pursue STEM careers.

Lisa joined the Hamilton County Community Foundation board of directors in 2009. She is the Executive Director of the Hamilton Southeastern Schools Foundation. The foundation was formed in 2001 to benefit all schools in the Hamilton Southeastern district by providing student scholarships and teacher grants. For more than two decades, Tonya led highly successful sales teams in the medical device field.

Tonya started her career in marketing with Proctor & Gamble and then, LensCrafters during their start-up and highest growth period. She spent more than 15 years in the medical industry with GE Medical Systems, Boston Scientific and Hologic where she managed high earning sales teams in the Midwest and on the West Coast.

Building on her passion to help others succeed, Tonya moved into the sales training department for Hologic, the world’s largest women’s health care company. She was responsible for fostering the growth of outstanding industry management leaders. She also developed strategies and content for national sales meetings that included audiences of upwards of 600 people.

Tonya continues to dedicate much of her time toward giving back to the community. She spent 10 years on the board for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Tri-State Southern Ohio Chapter and two years as executive director.  Locally, she is involved with the National Charity League, has served on other boards and chaired large fundraising events for organizations like Joy’s House.

Tonya lives in Westfield with her husband, Roger, and her two daughters, Caroline and Emily.

Nicole Lorch

Nicole Lorch has been with First Internet Bank since its 1999 launch. Throughout her tenure at First Internet Bank, Ms. Lorch has influenced digital service delivery, product development, customer acquisition and strategic communications. In her current role as Chief Operating Officer, she works across the bank’s business units to advance strategic initiatives and support the bank’s continued growth and expansion. She also has direct responsibility for the bank’s nationwide SBA lending program; the nationwide consumer and small business deposit platform; and the bank’s marketing, IT, and HR functions.

Passionate about the critical role talent acquisition and retention play in the Bank’s ongoing success, Ms. Lorch is particularly proud of the Bank’s continued appearances on Top Workplaces in Indianapolis and Best Banks to Work For (a nationwide poll sponsored by American Banker).

Ms. Lorch believes a community is stronger when its residents share their time, talent and treasure. She serves on advisory boards and committees for the Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership (INHP), the United Way of Central Indiana, and the Women’s Fund of Central Indiana. Ms. Lorch is also a trustee of the Malpas Scholarship Trust at DePauw University.

In recognition of her professional accomplishments and community contribution, the Indianapolis Business Journal recognized Ms. Lorch as a Woman of Influence in November 2017. The IBJ honors women in Central Indiana for their professional excellence, leadership, vision, community service, and mentoring.

Ms. Lorch earned a bachelor’s degree from DePauw University and an MBA from Indiana University Kelley School of Business. She is also a 2015 graduate of the CBA Executive Banking School.
