Indy Summer Youth Programs Orientation Registration

Join funders and fellow youth organizations for the annual Summer Youth Program Fund Orientation. This year features a new location and optional workshops about data collection and designing effective programs, in addition to an overview of the application and review timeline, funder priorities, resources for youth organizations, and time to network with your programming peers.

The two-hour orientation will be followed by optional break-out workshops designed to give you skills to improve your program and/or application. Topics include:

  • De-mystifying Data: Data Collection Doesn’t Have to be Hard with Timothy A. Raines, PhD, CDE®, Vice President Quality Initiatives, Indiana Afterschool Network
    • Are you new to data collection or looking to enhance your existing skills? In this interactive session, you’ll learn why collecting data is crucial for understanding your program’s impact and making informed decisions. We’ll demystify the process by identifying the right data to collect and exploring simple yet effective methods to capture it. With practical tips and tricks, you’ll discover that data collection doesn’t have to be hard. We’ll encourage you to gain confidence in your data collection abilities and leave with actionable steps to support your program’s needs. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your approach, this session will provide valuable insights and tools to help you showcase the difference your program makes in the lives of the young people you serve.
  • Program Excellence: From Objective Setting to Staff Empowerment with Fletcher Elliot (he/they), MEd, Director Capacity Building & Professional Development, Marion County Commission on Youth, Inc. (MCCOY)
    • Are you looking to enhance your program designs and ensure that your team is well-prepared to achieve desired outcomes? Join us to gain actionable insights and practical skills to enhance your program design and evaluation processes, learn to write objectives and outcomes that are both meaningful and measurable, equip your team with the knowledge and tools needed to effectively support and achieve program goals, and network with other professionals and share best practices for program success. No prior experience in program design is required, but a willingness to engage in collaborative learning and practice is essential. Secure your spot today and take the first step towards designing programs that truly make a difference!
  • Smart Simple Technical Assistance: Join Cami and Cecilia from Central Indiana Community Foundation to get one-on-one help setting up or navigating your Smart Simple account, and for general tips and trips on how to use CICF’s grant management platform.

We will be joined by representatives of MCCOY, Indiana Afterschool Network, Indy Parks and the Grantwriting Professionals Association.

Please note, seating is limited to 150 participants. We ask that your organization send no more than two representatives and that you only RSVP if you are sure you can attend. Late or same-day registrants will be placed on a waitlist; unclaimed seats will be released 5 minutes prior to event start.  Please RSVP by Tuesday, Sept. 3.
